pPod – Lighting Concept

pPod is a lampshade made from 4 interlocking pieces of flat polypropylene sheet, inspired by flowers, peas in a pod and the spirit of environmentalism. pPod consists of one recyclable material, no fasteners, able to be flat-packed and easily assembled/disassembled. I was inspired to create a lampshade that played on the reflective, ambient and diffusing qualities of light, thus pPod reveals certain elements of its form only when lit from behind, yet still looks intriguing and elegant when switched off.
