VAD Purse

Increasingly, most patients awaiting heart transplantation will have a life-saving Ventricular Assist Device surgically implanted. A Ventricular Assist Device, or VAD, is a mechanical pump that is attached to the heart to assist its function – essentially, it’s an artificial heart pump.

The VAD Purse is a carry bag designed for the unique needs of female VAD patients. The bag converts from a shoulder-style bag to a backpack in less than 30 seconds. The shoulder bag style allows for easy access, while the backpack option provides flexibility for shifting the weight off the shoulder and a providing more ergonomic and balanced weight distribution, leading to better posture. The bag has been specially designed so that it can be switched from a shoulder bag style to a backpack without tangling the driveline (power supply cord).
